Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge III, Ara, Ajay Kumar Sharma, on March 19, 2021, convicted one Bumbum Singh of village Zamira under Ara Muffasil police station (PS) in a October 26, 2016, double murder case. The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on March 23, 2021.
The APP, Ara Civil Court, said that a miscreant intruded the house of Batuk Singh at village Zamira under Ara Muffasil PS and shot dead him and his pregnant wife Yamuna Devi October 26, 2016, night, when they were sleeping. The miscreants had also stolen jewellery and cash from the house. A named FIR was lodged with Ara Muffassil PS against Bumbum Singh of the village on the statement of Batuk Singh’s mother. The FIR said that Bumbum Singh had demanded Rs 50,000 from Batuk Singh but he had refused to give the money and that was the reason he killed Batuk Singh and his wife.
After hearing both sides, the ADJ III found Bumbum Singh guilty of murder and convicted him. The court also fixed March 23, 2021 to pronounce quantum of punishment.
