Ara : A named FIR was lodged with Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district on April 15, 2018, against one Abhishek Kumar for demanding Rs. 10 lakh as ‘Rangdari’ ( extortion)  from a coaching institute owner Kanhaiya Singh but no arrest has so far been made in this regard. The coaching institute has sought police protection to himself and his family members.

Kanhaiya Singh of Ganghar said that he runs a coaching centre ‘One Step’ in K G Road locality under Nawada police station. On April 14, 2018, evening, he received a message on his WhatsApp from one Abhishek Kumar who demanded Rs 10 lakh from him threatening him of dire consequences.

Kanhaiya said that the extortionist also threatened to open fire on him as he had done at the clinic of a Homoeopathic doctor on Godhana road and also at mobile shop owners Sumit Kumar and Dheeraj Kumar if he fails to pay the amount to him within five days. The extortionist also also asked him not to inform police about it otherwise he would be eliminated.

SHO, Nawada police station, Subodh Kumar, said that police were searching for the miscreant. Police would arrest him very soon, the SHO said.
