Ara : Ara Coaching Centre owner Ranjan Kumar Prakash, who was shot at and critically injured by two bike borne unidentified miscreants recently, succumbed to his injuries at a private nursing home at Patna on September 26, 2020, during treatment. Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

SHO, Barhara police station, Akhilesh Kumar Singh said that two unidentified bike borne had fired four rounds on Coaching Centre owner, Ranjan Kumar, 30, son of Om Prakash Gupta of BansToli under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur District in South Bihar, from point blank range near Birahimpur-Karaza village on Ara-Barhara main road on September 24, 2020, late evening, when he was going to Bakhorapur on his motorcycle along with Nishi Sah, wife of Raj Kumar Sah of Machhali Fatak, Tari Mohalla, under Ara Town police station. The miscreants escaped from the spot firing. Nishi Sah also went with a person on a motorcycle after the incident.

Police admitted an injured Ranjan to Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctor referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital in view of his critical condition though the family members admitted him to a private nursing home at Patna.

A named FIR was lodged with Barhara police station against some persons including Nishi Sah on the statement of Om Prakash Gupta, deceased’s father. He accused Nishi Sah of  hatching plan to kill his son and  also taking away his purse and mobile phone with her after the incident. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. Police are investigating the matter and also arrested Nishi Sah and are interrogating her.
