Appointment of 72 Middle school teachers found illegal in Udwantnagar

Ara : Block Development Officer (BDO), Udwantnagar block in Bhojpur district, Md Sikandar has withheld salary of 72 Middle school teachers at block and panchayat level with immediate effect after their appointment was found illegal. The matter came to light after a letter from the District Programme Officer (DPO).

BDO Md Sikandar said that appointment of teachers on contract basis was under scanner and an inquiry was going  on.  He said appointment of at least 72 teachers at block and panchayat level was found illegal and so their salary has been withheld. He said that role of niyojan (employment) unit is also under scanner and the members are found corrupt in inquiry, stern action will be taken against them as well. He said that inquiry was still going on and added that appointment of more teachers could be found illegal. He said that documents and papers have been demanded from different niyojan units for further verification.
