Patna : State Transport Commissioner Anupam Kumar, who is also holding additional charge of Director, Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD), and MD, Samvad Samiti, IPRD, was on August 17, 2017, notified as Special DM, East Champaran, to handle flood relief operations in the district. East Champaran is among the 14 districts of Bihar reeling under flood.
Anupam Kumar, a former DM of East Champaran district, is a 2003 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre. He was transferred from East Champaran on July 31, 2017. Principal Secretary, Transport, has been given additional charge of State Transport Commissioner till the time Anupam Kumar is away at Motihari as Special DM. Motihari is district headquarters of East Champaran district in North Bihar. Deputy Director (Press), IPRD, Bidu Bhushan Prasad, has been given additional charge of Director, IPRD, and MD, Samvad Samiti, IPRD. The General Administration Department issued a notification to this effect on August 17.
Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), Bhagalpur, Amit Kumar, a 2012 batch IAS officer, has been given additional charge of City Commissioner, Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation.
