Patna : Third seed Anders Antonsen, 23, Denmark, beat compatriot and 7th seed Rasmus Gemke, 23, in a three-game thriller in the final to win men’s singles title at Danisa Denmark Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 Badminton tournament at Odense Sports Park, Odense V, Denmak, on October 18, 2020, evening.

Antonsen beat Gemke 18-21, 21-19, 21-12 in final in 74 minutes rallying back from one game down. Antonsen won 60 rallies in the match to 52 by Gemke. Both the players won 5 consecutive poits each in the match. Antonsen now leads Gemke 4-0 Head to Head. Antonsen had defeated 2 seed Chou Tien Chen, 30. Taiwan, in semi-finals on October 17, 2020.

Second seed and 2017 World Champion Nozomi Okukara, 25, Japan, defeated 3rd seed and reigning Olympic Champion & three-time former World Champion Carolina Marin, 27, Spain, 21-19, 21-19 in 56 minutes in final to win women’s singles title. Okuhara won 42 rallies in the match to 36 by Carolina. Both the players won 3 consecutive points each in the match. Carolina, however, still leads Okuhara 9-8 Head to Head.
