Buxar : Some anti-social elements escaped with 13 vials of Covishield from the Buxar Primary Health Centre (PHC) vaccination centre on July 30, 2021.
Buxar Sadar PHC was made vaccination centre for the vaccination of people and hundreds of people had gathered there for vaccination on July 30, 2021. But, the Buxar District Administration had not made adequate security arrangements resulting in appeared at the PHC. hue and cry. Meanwhile, some anti-social elements looted 13 vials of Covishield and escaped. The District Administration appealed to them through loudspeaker to return the vaccine vials but to no avail. Te officials are still hopeful though.
SDO, Krishna Kant Upadhyaya, Civil Surgeon, Buxar, and other officials rushed to the spot. They confirmed that 13 vials of the vaccine were looted that may affect vaccination of at least 130 persons.
The Covid test and vaccination were going on at the PHC. People going for first dose of vaccine and even second dose have to wait for long. The people from different places in Buxar District are reaching the PHC for vaccination but only two Homeguards personnel were deployed there.
Several people returned without vaccination. Urmila Devi of Shivpuri locality in Buxar town said that she had booked for second dose online between 12 noon to 2pm. When she reached the PHC centre, a long queue of people was seen and some person looted vaccine. She returned without vaccination. Even Binod Pathak of Niyazipur had the same experience.
