Ankita Raina wins Solapur Open Women’s $25,000 Tennis tournament title

Patna : India Number 1 and 2nd seed Ankita Raina, 26, won the Solapur Open Women’s ITF $25,000 Tennis tournament title beating 5th seed Naiktha Bains, 21, UK, in straight sets in the final on December 8, 2019, noon, her 9th ITF title.

World No 188 Ankita Raina beat World No 249 Naiktha Bains 6-3, 6-3 in the final at Solapur District Lawn Tennis Association Club, Maharashtra, India. Ankita won 5 break points in the match to 2 by Naiktha. The Indian also won 6 games in a row in the match to 2 by her rival. Naiktha committed 4 double faults in the match to 1 by Ankita, who got 80 WTA rankings points for winning the title.

Ankita Raina’s winning percentage both on her first and second serve ( 62 % & 63 %) was higher than that of Naiktha ( 45 % & 61 %). Ankita won 38 service points to  27 by Naiktha. The win

Ankita had won doubles title with Ulrikke Eikeri, 26, Norway, on December 7, 2019.
