Sitamarhi :The incessant rain for the last four days has disrupted normal life in Sitamarhi District in North Bihar. All the major rivers including Bagmati, Lalbakeya, Lakhandei, Adhwara Group of rivers, Jhim, Marar, and Hardi, originating from Nepal, are flowing above danger marks posing flood threats. The farmers are praying the rain God for respite to save their paddy crop.
Sitamarhi district administration under the leadership of DM Abhilasha Kumari Sharma is alert mode. The DM visited the Bagmati river embankment sites on September 29, 2019.
Meanwhile, rain claimed the life of Sakal Dev Rai, 82, at village Dhanukhi under Runnisaidpur block on September 29, 2019, after his mud house collapsed. His wife Jashoda Devi sustained injuries and was admitted to Runnisaidpur Primary Health Centre (PHC).
