New Delhi : The State of Kerala will go to the polls on April 23, 2019, in Phase 3 of the ongoing General Elections. All the 20 Parliamentary constituencies (PCs) in the state are scheduled to go to polls in a single phase.

The State has a total electorate of  2,61,51,534 of which 1,26,84,839 are male electors, 1,34,66,521 are female electors and 174 belong to third gender category. Altogether 24,970 polling stations have been set up in the state and  227 candidates ( out of which 25 are women) are in the fray. The BJP is contesting 15 seats while the Congress is contesting from 16 seats. The CPM is contesting 14 seats while the CPI is contesting 4 seats, according to a PIB release.

The Congress Party had won 8 seats in 2014 LS polls while the CPM had won 5.The  CPI had won one seat while the IUML had won 2 seats. Kerala Congress (M) and RSP had won one seats each while the Independents had won 2 seats.
