Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Mahasabha protests shortage of water in canals

Ara : Hundreds of farmers and others led by their leader Raju Yadav on June 23, 2018, took out procession under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Mahasabha from different points in all the 14 blocks in Bhojpur district to protest what they called against indifferent attitude of the governments towards the pathetic condition of farmers, shortage of water in canals, lack of irrigation facility, fertilizers, and seeds.

The farmers also blocked Ara – Patna, Ara – Buxar, Ara-Piro, Ara – Sahar, Ara-Sandesh, Ara-Mohania, Ara-Barhara, Jagdishpur- Bihia main roads besides Dhobighatawa, Shivanj Mor, Bus stand, Tribhuani tri-junction near Ara railway station, Pakari, Katira, New Policeline, Old Policeline, Gangi, Mirganj, Gausganj, and Anaith. They burnt tyres on roads and paralysed movement of vehicles since June 23 morning raising slogans against both the State and Cental governments.

Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Mahasabha leader Raju Yadav said that farmers are on the verge of starvation due to indifferent attitude of both the state and central governments though the Prime Minister boasts that he is working for the welfare of the farmers. He said crores of rupees were spent on renovation of canals but farmers are still not getting irrigation facilities. They are not getting fertilizers and seeds on subsidized rate but neither the officials nor any MLA or MP appear bothered about it.
