Muzaffarpur : Air pollution at Muzaffarpur exceeded the permissible limit by seven times on Deepawali day. The air pollution level recorded by pollution control board from October 30 night ( Deepawali) to 12 noon on October 31, 2016, said that pm 2.5 particle in the air had reached 553 unit at Muzaffarpur though normally it should be 60 to 65 unit. It, however, started coming down from November 1. Normally, air pollution level at Muzaffarpur is 75 to 90 pm particle. The instrument to record pollution level in the air is installed at collectorate. Avinash, an employee looking after the instrument, said the pollution level was highest on Deepawali day but started coming down from October 31 midnight.
