Agut, Opelka enter QFs of ATP Swiss Indoors Basel

Patna : World No 37 Reilly Opelka, 22, USA, upset 6th seed and World No 13 David Goffin, 28, Belgium, in a three-set thriller in second round of Swiss Indoors Basel, an ATP 500 points event, at Basel, Switzerland, on October 24, 2019, to enter the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Opelka edged past Goffin 6-7, 7-6, 7-5 in 2hr 25 minutes in second round battling back from one set down. He won a break point. The American hammered 29 Aces in the match to 9 by Goffin. Opelka though also committed 8 double faults to 2 by the Belgian. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match.

World No 10 and 4th seed Roberto Bautista Agut, 31, Spain, however, beat World No 64 Richard Gasquet, 33, France, in a  three set contest 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in 1hr 43 minutes in 2nd round to enter the QFs. The Spaniard won 3 break points in the match to 1 by Gasquet. Agut fired 8 Aces in the match to 6 by the French. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match.
