Patna : Hashmatullah Shahidi, 26, became the first Afghanistan cricketer to a double century in test cricket on March 11, 2021. Shahidi scored an unbeaten 200 runs in 443 balls with 21 fours and 1 six and captain Asghar Afghan, 33, scored 164 in 257 balls hitting 14 fours and 2 sixes as Afghanistan declared their first innings at 545/4 in third session of play on Day 2 in the 2nd test against Zimbabwe at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE, on March 11, 2021. Shahidi and Asghar added 307 runs for the 4th wicket. Opener Ibrahim Zadran had scored 72 on Day 1.

At stumps on Day 2, Zimbabwe were 50/0 in 17 overs with openers Prince Masvaure and Kevin Kasuza unbeaten on 29 and 14 runs respectively. Zimbabwe trail by 495 runs.  Zimbabwe had won the first test.
