Muzaffarpur : Principal Secretary, Health, Bihar Government, Sanjay Kumar, who on June 15, 2019, visited Sri Krishna Medical College & Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, to inquire about the well being of children suffering from Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES), said that the disease had so far claimed 69 lives.
Describing the situation as very serious, Kumar said that proper treatment was being provided to the AES patients. He said that AES cases had been reported from 12 districts of Bihar.
According to unconfirmed reports, 86 children had died due to AES at the two Muzaffarpur hospitals during last 20 days. Several doctors including former Head od of Paediatrics Department, SKMCH, Dr Kamlesh Tiwary, and Dr Brajmohan have stressed on research on the diseases
