Ara : At the call of Bar Council of India to protest against report of Law Commission, the members of Ara Bar Association (ABA) led by their president Ramadhar Singh boycotted the court and abstained from judicial work on March 31, 2017. With black ribbon tied on their arms, the advocates staged demonstration at the gate of Ara Civil Court. They burnt the effigy of the Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and raised slogans against the central government.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramadhar Singh said that the Law Commission has submitted report against the interest of the lawyers and added that only Bar Council of India and the State Bar Council guide them not the Law Commission. Earlier, the advocates of the Ara Bar Association had boycotted the court on March 29 and March 30 in protest against alleged misbehaviour of ACJM 13 Amit Raj with an advocate Kamla Kant Singh
