Ara : Two unidentified bike borne miscreants shot dead an advocate of Ara Civil Court on November 9, 2020, evening,in Sundarnagar locality under Ara town police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar. The deceased was identified as Preetam Narayan Singh alias Saheb Singh, son of late Brahm Narayan Singh of Sundarnagar locality. His wife Nilu Singh is the Town President, Women’s Wing of the BJP. Bhojpur SP Har Kishore Rai along with other police officials and police force rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident.
Bhojpur SP Har Kishore Rai said that Preetam Narayan Singh alias Saheb Singh, advocate, was going to his residence on his motorcycle on November 9, 2020, from the Ara Civil Court. When he reached near his house at Sundarnagar, two bike borne miscreants intercepted him and asked how he was. Later, they pumped two bullets into his body and escaped from the spot. The locals rushed him to Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctor referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital. He, however, succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital at Patna. The SP stated that police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
Priyadarshi, son of the deceased,said that his father had an old enmity with his uncle over a piece of land for the last one year. Meanwhile, Secretary, Ara Bar Association, Deepak Singh, expressed concern over the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants.
