Hajipur : Shiv Ranjan Jha alias Pappu Jha, 50, an advocate at Hajipur Civil Court, was shot dead by some unidentified bike borne criminals in the wee hours on January 16, 2021, when he was he was returning to Hajipur, headquarters of Vaishali District in North Bihar, from his native village Mahathi under Tisiauta police station on his car. He was found dead in his car with seat belt on and bullet injury marks.
The criminals, who were apparently following Jha after he left his village, overtook his car near village Bharatpur under Mahua police station (PS) in the district and fired on several rounds on him from from the front side as the front windscreen of the vehicle was found shattered. Police sent the body to Hajipur Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. No FIR was lodged with police in this connection till 11.20 am on January 16, 2021. SHO, Mahua PS, said the deceased advocate has two children.
According to police sources, the motorcycle borne criminals were following Advovate Jha after he left his village and stopped his car after overtaking it and showered bullets on him. He was driving his car so he fell on the steering wheel and died on the spot . The murder of an advocate has created sensation leaving his colleagues shocked.
Vaishali SP Maneesh while confirming the murder of Advocate Jha said that police were taking the help of FSL team to collect evidence. The SP said that the advocate was dead late January 15, 2021, night, and the body with injury marks was found in his car.
