Bagaha: There is acute shortage of currency notes at Bagaha branch of State Bank of India (SBI) causing a lot of problens to the account holders as they are getting money only in Rs 10 coins now-a-days in the absence of banknotes of any denomination.
The account holders, who are in urgent need of cash to perform social and religious functions including marriages of their wards sons or medicare of their kin, get money only in coins of Rs 10 occasionally leading to altercations between counter cashier and account holders.
Ramji Yadav of village Bariyarawa says he was in need of Rs 30,000 for medicare of one of his family members and carrying coins of such amount had become a heavy burden. Ramkishun Yadav of Lagunaha, Brajesh Pathak, Raghav Prasad said carrying huge amount of coins home was a very difficult task due to anti-social elements.
The Manager of SBI, Bagaha Branch, Prem Chandra Saha , is on leave. Another official of the bank said that the RBI supplies currency notes only after requisition from the bank manager.
