Patna : Covid-19 cases increased to 2,62,556 in Bihar on March 1, 2021, afternoon, as 22 more persons including 9 from Patna and 3 each from Muzaffarpur and Lakhisarai, tested positive for the pandemic on February 28, 2021. The active cases dropped to 369 in Bihar on March 1, 2021, from 398 on February 28.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar took first dose of Covid-19 vaccine (Covishield) at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IFIMS), Patna, on March 1, 2021. Deputy CM Tar Kishore Prasad and Health Minister Mangal Pandey was present on the occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 1, 2021, greeted Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on his birthday. Nitish turned 70 on March 1.
Of the 2,62,556 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar, a total of 2,60,645 patients have been declared cured including 51 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 99.27%. Bihas tested 22456253 samples so far including 22,209 samples on February 28, 2021. The Covid-19 toll remained pegged at 1,541 in the state on March 1, 2021.
