Patna : Active cases count further dropped to 21,084, in Bihar on May 29, 2021, down from 24,809 the previous day, as 1,491 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 across the state on May 28, 2021. The state registered 48 new deaths due to Covid-19  in last 24 hours taking the tally to 5,052 on May 29, 2021.

The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 96.29% in Bihar on May 29 from 95.76% on May 28, 2021. Meanwhile, Bihar received 90 Ventilators and 18,000 VTM ( Viral Transport Medium) Kit from the centre on May 29, 2021. The Ventilators and VTMs reached Patna by a Special IAF plane.

The 1,491 new Covid-19 cases included 196 in Patna, 110 in Samastipur, 96 in Gaya, 85 in Begusarai, 76 in Gopalganj, 70 in Aurangabad, 65 in Nalanda, 53 in Araria, 49 in Muzaffarpur, 45 in Munger, 44 in Katihar, 42 in Madhubani, and 32 in Darbhanga. Bihar has tested a total of 2,97,09,069 samples so far including 82,468 samples on May 28, 2021. Of the 7,04,173 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar, a total of 6,78,036 patients have been declared cured including 5,168 in last 24 hours, according to State Health Department figure..

The 48 new Covid deaths included 6 in Saran, 5 in Patna, 4 in Purnia, 4 in Samastipur, 3 in Begusarai, 3 in Madhubani, 3 in Supaul, 2 in Muzaffarpur, 2 in Bhagalpur, 2 in Darbhanga, 2 in Bhojpur, 2 in Nalanda, 2 in Rohtas, and 2 in Siwan.

With it, the Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,195 in Patna, 286 in Muzaffarpur, 262 in Bhagalpur, 232 in Nalanda, 188 in Saran, 185 in Gaya, 179 in Darbhanga, 134 in Rohtas, 131 in Siwan, 129 in Madhubani, 125 in Begusarai, 100 in Bhojpur, 97 in Nawada, 96 in Samastipur, 63 in Supaul, and 58 in Purnia.
