Ara : Masks and spray guns (pichkari) of IAF Pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman are selling like hot cakes at Ara, the headquarters of Bhojpur district, this Holi. Seeing Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s popularity, masks and spray guns in his name have flooded Ara markets and he is the first choice of children followed by masks and spray guns of Virat Kohli and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Jail Road, Ara, one Jhagad said that the price of these masks range from Rs 10 to Rs 50 and children and youths are buying them.The markets are also flooded with different varieties of pressouts and this year the pipe gun pressouts are new with their price ranging from Rs 90 to Rs 600. The pressouts decorated with cartoon characters are drawing attention of children, Jhagad said.
Kanchan, a shopkeeper in Gopali Chowk area, said that combo packs having colour, sweets and other articles are in great demand this year and people are picking up the combo pack to gift it to their friends and relatives. That apart, people particularly from rural areas are seen purchasing clothes for children and family members.
