Muzaffarpur : District education officer (DEO), Muzaffarpur, has issued order for lodging FIR against headmasters of 17 schools in the district for allegedly misappropriating fund released to the schools concerned in 2010-11 for construction of school buildings.
This followed strong exception taken by Muzaffarpr DM Dharmendra Singh on January 25 over the delay in lodging the FIRs. The DM had ordered for lodging FIRs against the headmasters concerned a few months back but the file kept gathering dust. The government had released Rs one crore to these 17 schools during 2010- 11 for construction of school buildings which were not constructed. The misappropriation of the aforesaid fund came to light during an inquiry.
