Muzaffarpur: Humain Chain to create awareness about prohibition enforced in Bihar in April 2016 was formed on 444 km long road under 16 blocks in Muzaffarpur district on January 21, 2017, with a large number of people including children participating in it.

Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh, SSP Vivek Kumar and Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Arvind Kumar Verma were seen regulating the Humain Chain at different places. The people were forming Human Chain at places fixed for it by the administration. The administration had arranged for water and makeshift toilets along the Humain Chain route.

The district administration had asked officials not to leave their places of deputation till all the people returned home after forming the chain, said DM Dharmendra Singh. SSP Vivek Kumar said the people participated in the events as if they were participating in a festival and added that police had made tight security arrangement for the occasion and traffic was well regulated.The DM said that 20 water tankers were made available on the routes Human Chain in the district apart from 22 mobile water tankers. The doctors and ANMs were also deployed along the routes. In a symbolic gesture, a liquor bottle cross in 60 X 40 metre was formed at MIT, Muzaffarpur, ground.
