New Delhi : India reported 7,554 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours. up from 6,915 cases on March 1, 2022, taking the tally of the cases recorded in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic to 4,29,38,599 at 8 am on March 2, 2022.
The country logged 223 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, up from 180 deaths on March 1, 2022, taking the toll to 5,14,246 on March 2, 2022, with the case fatality rate standing at 1.20%, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
A total of 14,123 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, recovered in last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,23,38,673 on March 2, 2022., India’s recovery rate (RR) improved to 98.60% on the day from 98.59% on March 1, 2022.
India’s Active Caseload was 85,680 on March 2, 2022, a decline of 6,792 in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 0.20% of the country’s total Positive Cases on the day.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 7,84,059 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 76.91 Crore (76,91,67,052) cumulative tests. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country was 1.06% on March 2, 2022, while the Daily Positivitywas 0.96%.
With the administration of more than 8 lakh (8,55,862) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 177.79 Crore (1,77,79,92,977) as per provisional reports till 7 am on March 2, 2022.
