New Delhi : India logged 30,615 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours. up from 27,409 cases on February 15, 2022, taking the tally of cases recorded in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic to 4,27,23,558 at 8 am on February 16, 2022. India reported 514 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, up from 347 deaths on February 15, 2022, taking the toll to 5,09,872 in the country on February 16, 2022.
A total of 82,988 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, recovered in last 24 hours, up from 82,817 recoveries on February 15, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,18,43,446 on February 16, 2022. India’s recovery rate (RR) improved to 97.94% on February 16 from 97.82% on February 15, 2022.
India’s Active Caseload was 3,70,240 on February 16, 2022, a decline of 52,887 in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 0.87% of the country’s total Positive Cases on February 16, according to Union Ministry figure.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 12,51,677 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 75.42 Crore (75,42,84,979) sample tests. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country was 3.32% on February 16, 2022, while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.45%.
Meanwhile, with the administration of more than 41.54 lakh (41,54,476) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 173.86 Crore (1,73,86,81,675) as per provisional reports till 7 am on February 16, 2022..
