Samastipur : Shambhu Prasad Rai ,43, President, Primary Agriculture Credit Society (PACS) Darba Panchayat under Patori police station (PS) in Samastipur District in South Bihar, was shot dead near Chandan chowk railway crossing gate by two unidentified bike borne criminals on January 27, 2022, evening. He was taken to Samstipur Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him brought dead. Police have lodged an FIR in this connection.
According to police sources, Shambhu Prasad Rai, President, PACS, Darba, was returning home from Patori market on his motorcycle and was waiting for the railways crossing gate to open near Chandan Chowk. In the meantime, two bike borne persons reached at the railway crossing gate and opened two rounds of fire on his head. Rai fell down on road and died on the spot. The assailants escaped on motorcycle. Policeare investigating the case. Rai was President of PACS for the last 16 years in his panchayat . Tension prevails in the area after his murder .
