New Delhi : India reported 7,495 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,47,65,076 at 8 am on December 23, 2021. Less than 15,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for last 56 days now. The new Covid-19 cases registered in last 24 hours exceeded the recoveries by 535.
A total of 6,960 Covid-19 patients recovered in last 24 hours increasing the cumulative tally of recovered patients(since the beginning of the pandemic to 3,42,08,926 at 8 am on December 23, 2021. India’s recovery rate improved to 98.40% on December 23, the ,highest since March 2020.
India’s Active Caseload was 78,291 on December 23, 2021. Active cases accounted for 0.23% of the country’s total Positive Cases on the day, the lowest since March 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 12,05,775 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 66.86 Crore (66,86,43,929) sample tests.
The Weekly Positivity Rate at 0.59% remains less than 1% for the last 39 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 0.62% on December 23, 2021. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for last 80 days and below 3% for 115 consecutive days now.
With the administration of 70,17,671 vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 139.70 Crore (1,39,69,76,774) as per provisional reports till 7 am on December 23, 2021. This has been achieved through 1,47,94,783 sessions.
