New Delhi : India reported 5,326 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, the lowest in 581 days, taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,47,52,164 cases at 8 am on December 21, 2021. Less than 15,000 Daily New Cases have been reported in the country for last 54 days now.
A total of 8,043 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, recovered in last 24 hours increasing the tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to 3,41,95,060 on December 21, 2021.Consequently, India’s recovery rate (RR) stands at 98.40%, the highest since March 2020.
India’s Active Caseload was 79,097 on December 21, 2021, a drop of 3,170 cases in last 24 hours, the lowest in 574 days. Active cases accounted for 0.23% of the country’s total Positive Cases, the lowest since March 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 10,14,079 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 66.61 Crore (66,61,62,659) sample tests.
The Weekly Positivity Rate at 0.59% remains less than 1% for the last 37 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 0.53% on December 21, 2021. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for last 78 days and below 3% for 113 consecutive days now.
Meanwhile, with the administration of 64,56,911 vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 138.35 crore (1,38,34,78,181) as per provisional reports till 7 am on December 21, 2021. This has been achieved through 1,46,27,925 sessions.
India reported 453 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,78,007 in the country on December 21, 2021.
