Patna : Australia hammered England by 9 wickets in 1st test at The Gabba, Brisbane, Australia, on Day 4 on December 11, 2021, to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match Ashes series as spinner Nathan Lyon took 4/91 and medium fast bowler Cameron Green took 2/23. Resuming at their overnight score of 220/2, England collapsed to be all out for 297 in their 2nd innings in second session of play on Day 4 with captain Joe Root scoring 89 runs and Dawid Malan scoring 82 runs.
