Patna : New Zealand (NZ) were bundled out for a humiliating 62 runs in 28.1 overs on day 2 in their first innings in 2nd test against India at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, Maharashtra, on December 4, 2021, as spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took 4/8 in 8 overs while fellow spinner Axar Patel, who scored 52 runs in India’s first innings, took 2/14 in 9.1 overs. Pacer Mohd Siraj, who started the damage, took   3/19 in 4 overs while spinner Jayant Yadav took 1/13 in 2 overs.

For NZ, fast bowler Kyle Jamieson scored 17 runs while captain Tom Latham (opener) scored 10 runs. Ross Taylor fell to Mohd Siraj for 1 run.

Earlier on the day, resuming at their overnight score of 221/4, India were all out for 325 in 109.5 overs as NZ spinner Ajaz Patel took 10/119 in 47.5 overs taking all the 10 wickets becoming the 3rd bowler to achieve the feat after Jim Laker  and Anil Kumble. Ajaz surprised everyone by taking all the 10 Indian wickets. Opener Mayank Agarwal fell to Ajaz Patel for 150 runs in 311 balls hitting 17 fours and 4 sixes.
