Lakhisarai : Six persons including two women were killed and 4 others critically injured after an SUV carrying them collided a head-on with a speeding truck on NH 333 near village Pipra under Halasi police station (PS) in Lakhisarai District in Bihar on November 16, 2021, morning. Out of six killed the major accident, five persons belonged to the same one family. They were returning to their village in Jamui District after cremation of a family member. Lakhisarai is about 137 km away from Patna, capital of Bihar.
Lakhisarai SP Sushil Kumar said all the bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital at Lakhisarai for post-mortem while the 4 injured persons were rushed to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) for treatment.
According to police sources, an SUV carrying 10 persons collided head on with a truck in which 6 persons were killed. They were returning to their native village Sagdaha-Bhandara in Jamui District after cremation of Gita Devi, wife of Laljit Singh, at Ganga Ghat, Lakhisarai.
The deceased were identified as Laljit Singh (husband of Gita Devi ), Amit Shekhar (her son), Ramchandra Singh (son), Baby (Daughter), Anita (Daughter), and Preetam Kumar, Driver of SUV.
