Muzaffarpur : For the first time, Muzaffarpur police under the leadership of SSP Jayant Kants on September 13, 2021, foiled a bank dacoity bid at a Bank of Baroda (BoB) branch at Pachrukhi under Motipur police station (PS) in Muzaffarpur District in North Bihar. In an fierce encounter between police and criminals, four criminals received gun shot injuries and were arrested and admitted to hospital at Muzaffarpur. No police personnel was hurt in the encounter, according to police sources.
SSP, Muzaffarpur, Jayant Kant, on a tip off, with other senior officers and police force timely reached the Bank of Baroda branch at Pachrukhi at around 3 .30 pm after four criminals had enteredthe Bank to loot cash. Police surrounded the bank premises. Sensing they were surrounded by police, the criminals started firing and in retaliation, police also fire on them. Four criminals were injured in the encounter and were arrested and admitted to a hospital.
When contacted, SSP Jayant Kant said that details will be given later as raids were being conducted to nab some more criminals .
