New Delhi : India logged 45,083 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 46,759 cases on August 28, 2021, taking the tally of cases recorded so far in in the country to 3,26,95,030 at 8 am on August 29, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases has beenreported for 63 consecutive days now.
On the other hand, a total of 35,840 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours, up from 31,374 cases on August 28, 2021, taking the tally of recovered cases to 3,18,88,642 on August 29, 2021, with the recovery rate (RR) dropping to 97.53% from 97.56% the day before.
The Active Caseload in the country was 3,68,558 on August 29, 2021, an increase of 8,783 cases in last 24 hours, accounting for 1.13% of the country’s total Positive Cases, from 1.10% on August 28.
India’s cumulative vaccination coverage has crossed 63 Crore landmark on August 28, 2021. With the administration of 73,85,866 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 63.09 crore (63,09,17,927) as per provisional reports till 7 am on August 29, 2021. This has been achieved through 67,80,301 sessions, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 17,55,327 sample tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 51.86 core (51,86,42,929) cumulative tests.
The Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.28% in the country on August 29, 2021, less than 3% for the last 65 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 2.57% on the day. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 34 days and below 5% for 83 consecutive days now.
India recorded 460 new deaths due to Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the toll 4.37,830 in the country on August 29, 2021.
