Ara : Police recovered body of an elderly man from a paddy field at village Chilhar under Azimabad police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on August 27, 2021, morning. The deceased was identified as Nemulal Musahar, 60, of village Chilhar village under Kirkiri Panchaya in Bhojpur District.
The reason behind the murder is still to be ascertained. An FIR has been lodged with Azimabad PS in this connection and police are investigating the matter. The deceased was said to be an active member of the CPI(ML). As the news of his death spread, the villagers got agitated and along with the CPI(ML) activists blocked Sakadi-Nasariganj State Highway (SH) near village Kirkiri with the body paralysing movement of vehicles. They burnt tyres on road raising slogans against the district administration. They were demanding arrest of the miscreants at the earliest, suspension of the SHO, Azimabad PS, and a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next kin of the deceased. SP to come.
Agiaw MLA, Manoj Manjil, said that Nemulal Musahar had disappeared from his house on August 25, 2021, morning. His family members searched for him everywhere but failed. The Azimabad police was informed about his disappearance on August 26, 2021, morning, but police remained indifferent. On August 27 morning, when the farmers were going to their field they saw body of an elderly person lying in a paddy field and informed the other villagers. Manoj Manjil said that the miscreants had cut off fingers of Nemulal and threw the body in the paddy field after damaging his face. He added that Nemulal was killed brutally and added that acid was thrown on his faceo and his thumb was recovered from near the body.
He said that Nemulal Musahar was leading the movement for a school and championed the cause of irrigation water in the canal. He also led agitation for the cause of sand labourers. He added that it was a political murder and demanded high level inquiry into it and also suspension of the SHO, Azimabad PS.
