Motihari : Four persons died at Sadar Hospital, Motihari, in East Champaran District in North Bihar due to asphyxiation on August 26, 2021, late night, after they entered a newly constructed septic tank at village Ahiraulia under Kotwa police station (PS) one by one to rescue a 6 year old boy Amit who had fallen into the tank while playing the same day. The boy was, however, rescued safely but all the four saviors fell unconscious and were rushed to the hospital.
SHO, Kotwa police station (PS), said that Dukhi Pandit had recently got constructed a septic tank but it was yet to be covered by concrete slabs. On August 26, 2021, Amit Kumar fell into this tank while playing near it. Four villagers: Raju Pandit, Bigu Sah, Rahul Kumar, and Niraj Kumar entered the tank one by one with support of a bamboo ladder to save Amit. The boy came out from tank but the four protectors fell unconscious. They were rushed to the Sadar Hospital but died during treatment. Amit Kumar is undergoing treatment at Sadar Hhospital and is improving, according to the doctors .
