New Delhi : India registered 30,948 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 34,457 cases on August 21, 2021, taking the tally to 3,24,24,234 cases in the country at 8 am on August 22, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases has been reported for 56 consecutive days now.
On the other hand, a total of 38,487 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,16,36,469 on August 22, 2021, with the recovery rate (RR) further improving to 97.57%, the highest since March 2020.
The Active Caseload count was 3,53,398, a drop of 7,942 cases in last 24 hours, and is at its lowest in 152 days. Active cases presently form only 1.09% of the country’s total Positive Cases, the lowest since March 2020.
India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crossed the 58 Crore landmark on August 21, 2021. With the administration of 52,23,612 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 58.14 crore (58,14,89,377) as per provisional reports till 7 am on August 22, 2021. This has been achieved through 64,39,411 sessions, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
India logged 403 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,34,367 on August 22, 2021.
