Bokaro (Jharkhand) : Abhineet Sharan, a Class IX student of DPS Bokaro, Jharkhand, has bagged gold and bronze medals at the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) held on July 24, 2021, and results of which were declared this month.
SIMOC consisted of three segments of examination: Math Olympiad Contest (individual), Math Master Mind Competition, and Mind Sports Challenge (team-based).
Abhineet bagged bronze medal in the first round i.e. Math Olympiad Contest, whereas in the second round i.e. Math Master Mind Competition and the third round i.e. Mind Sports Challenge, his team bagged gold.
Securing a bronze medal in an individual event in the first level of Singapore and Asian School’s Math Olympiad (SASMO) in the month of January earlier this year, Abhineet made his way to represent India along with 34 other students in the second level i.e. SIMOC. It may be mentioned here that Abhineet is the only student from Jharkhand to have qualified for the prestigious exam.
Congratulating Abhineet, Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar said, “It gives me immense pleasure to see our students shine not only at the national canvas but also on the global platform. It is with his grit, assiduous efforts, and the support of parents that he has etched his name in the International Leader board.” Principal Gangwar wished Abhineet the best for the future.
