Chas (Jharkhand) :  Delhi Public School, Chas, Bokaro, celebrated the 75th Independence Day with great enthusiasm on its school campus in presence of scores of teachers and others on August 15, 2021. The patriotic fervour was set up with the theme “Nation First, Always First – Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.

The teachers and the staff members in their traditional finery thematically based on the attire presenting the culture of different states relived the Indian freedom. The occasion was graced by Pro Vice Chairman N Muralidharan,  Suresh Agarwal, Member, DPS Chas, and Dean Academics Dr Sanjay Mallick.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the “Tricolour” by the Pro Vice Chairman N Muralidharan followed by National Anthem creating an ambience of devotion to our motherland.  The patriotic vibe of the programme was further enhanced with the musical presentation of “Vande Matram” and “Jaage Jaage Amar Bhavna” by the enthusiastic group of teachers. On this esteemed occasion, the whole school reververated with the slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Matram” and everyone present took a pledge to prioritisze their obligations towards the nation.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Pro Vice Chairman Muralidharan said, “We owe a lot to the unsung heroes who showed their selfless love and laid their life for the cause of the nation. We must take pride and praise the new heroes who are leading India to mark its name as a progressive state on the world arena.” He added, “Freedom is a choice, we need to decide what we really wish to get free from- the vices, the wrong thought etc.”

 

In her message from Delhi, the Chief Mentor of the school, Dr Hemlata S Mohan, through the virtual platform, said, “A nation is known not by its governance and its administration but by its people and their consciousness. From the very beginning of our civilisation, India has believed in the virtue of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and it has always set an example of progress and development for all. Let us recommit ourselves to the objective of ” Nation First, Always First”.

Her message recharged the audience with pride for being the citizens of a glorious nation with a rich past. She infused the gathering with patriotic passion and zeal.

Dean Academics Sanjay Mallick extended the vote of thanks. The programme was hosted by Vivek Gupta. The celebration created many memories to be cherished forever and created a joyful aura while ensuring Covid- 19 precautions and social distancing.
