Ara : A man, with the help of his mother, allegedly beat his wife to death at village Koshier under Chauri police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on August 7, 2021, evening.
The deceased was identified as Manorama Devi, 35 wife of Avinash alias Bhola Chaudhary of village Koshier. Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. A named FIR was lodged by Chauri police station against Avinash and his mother Devkumari Kuer on the statement of the father of the deceased. After institution of FIR, police arrested Avinash alias Bhola Chaudhary and his mother Devkumari Kuer and sent them to jail.
SHO, Chauri police station (PS), Pawan Kumar, quoting the FIR, said that Manorama Devi, daughter of Bhagwan Chaudhary of Nonadiha village under Sikarhatta PS in Bhojpur District was married to Avinash alias Bhola Chaudhary, son of late Yamuna Chaudhary of Koshier village under Chauri police station, about 15 years ago and had two sons. Bhola Chaudhary frequently thrashed his wife Manorama Devi.
In the evening on August 7, 2021, Bhola Chaudhary quarreled with his wife and hit her on the operated portion of her stomach. She was rushed to the hospital but she succumbed to her injuries. As her father Bhagwan Chaudhary got information, he immediately reached Koshier village and went to the police station with the body of his daughter and lodged a named FIR against her husband and mother-in-law.
