New Delhi : India logged 39,070 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 38,628 new cases on August 7, 2021, taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,19,34,455 on August 8, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for 42nd consecutive days.
On the other hand, a total of 43,910 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours, up from 40,017 on August 7, 2021, taking the tally to 3,10,99,771 on August 8 with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 97.39% on August 8 from 97.37% on August 7.
India’s Active Caseload was 4,06,822 on August 8, 2021, a drop of 5,331 cases in last 24 hours, accounting for 1.27% of the country’s total Positive Cases from 1.29% on August 7.Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.38% while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.27% on August 8, 2021. Daily Positivity rate remains below 3% for last 13 days and below 5% for 62 consecutive days now.
Meanwhile, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 50.68 Crore. Cumulatively, 50,68,10,492 vaccine doses have been administered through 58,51,292 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on August 8, 2021. Altogether 55,91,657 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
A total of 17,22,221 sample tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 48 crore (48,00,39,185) tests so far, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
