New Delhi : India logged 38,628 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 44,643 cases on August 6, 2021, taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,18,95,385 on August 7. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for 41 consecutive days.
On the other hand, a total of 40,017 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country, down from 41,096 on August 6, 2021, taking the tally of patients declared cured so far to 3,10,55,861 on August 7.This constitutes an overall recovery rate of 97.37%.
Meanwhile, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage achieved a significant milestone of 50 crore on August 6, 2021. Cumulatively, 50,10,09,609 vaccine doses have been administered through 58,08,344 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on August 7, 2021. A total of 49,55,138 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
India’s Active Caseload was 4,12,153 on August 7, 2021, a drop of 2,006 cases in last 24 hours. The Active cases now constitute 1.29% of the country’s total Positive Cases., according to Union Health Ministry figure. Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.39% while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.21% on August 7. Daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for last 12 days and below 5% for 61 consecutive days now.
With substantially ramped up testing capacity, a total of 17,50,081 sample tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 47.83 crore (47,83,16,964) tests so far.
India recorded 617 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,27,371 in the country on August 7, 2021, including 1,33,717 in Maharashtra.
