New Delhi : India registered 42,982 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,18,12,114 at 8 am on August 5, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 41,726 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,09,74,748 on August 5, 2021, with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.37%.
India’s Active Caseload was 4,11,076 on August 5, 2021, accounting for 1.29% of the country’s total Positive Cases. The Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.37% while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.58% on August 5. Daily Positivity rate has remained below 5% for 59 consecutive days now, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 48.93 Crore. Cumulatively, 48,93,42,295 vaccine doses have been administered through 57,21,937 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on August 5, 2021.A total of 37,55,115 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 16,64,030 sample tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 47.48 crore (47,48,93,363) tests so far.
India logged 533 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,26,290 in the country on August 5, 2021.
