New Delhi : India recorded 42,625 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 30,549 cases on August 3, 2021, taking the tally of cases registered so far in the country to 3,17,69,132 at 8 am on August 4, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for 38 consecutive days.
A total of 36,668 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours, down from 38,887 on August 3, 2021, taking the tally to 3,09,33,022 in the country on August 4, 2021, crossing 3 crore mark, with the recovery rate (RR) dropping to 97.37% from 97.38% a day before.
Meanwhile, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed a landmark of 48 crore on August 3, 2021. Cumulatively, 48,52,86,570 vaccine doses have been administered through 56,83,682 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on August 4, 2021. A total of 62,53,741 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
A total of 18,47,518 sample tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 47.31 crore (47,31,42,307) tests so far.
India’s Active Caseload was 4,10,353 on August 4, 2021, up from 4,04,958 on August 3. Active cases now constitute 1.29% of the country’s total Positive Cases. Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.36% on August 4 while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.31%on August 4, Daily Positivity rate has remained below 5% for 58 consecutive days now.
India logged 562 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,25,757 on August 4, 2021.
