New Delhi : India logged 43,654 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 29,689 on the day before, taking the tally of cases registered so far in the country to 3,14,84,605 at 8 am on July 28, 2021, exceeding the daily recoveries by a margin of 1,976. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for the 31st consecutive day.
A total of 41,678 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours, down from 42,363 the day before, taking the tally to 3,06,63,147 on July 28, 2021, constituting an overall recovery rate of 97.39%.
India’s Active Caseload on July 28, 2021, was 3,99,436, an increase of 1,336 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for 1.27% of the country’s total Positive Cases. India also logged 640 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,22,022 on July 28. The Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.36% while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.51% on July 28, 2021. Daily Positivity rate has remained below 5% for 51 consecutive day now.
Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 44.61 Crore on July 27, 2021. Cumulatively,44,61,56,659 vaccine doses have been administered through 53,73,439 sessions, as per the provisional report till 8 am on July 28. A total of 40,02,358 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 17,36,857 sample tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 46 crore (46,09,00,978) tests so far.
