New Delhi : India registered 38,949 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,10,26,829 at 8 am on July 16, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 40,026 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,01,83,876 on July 16, 2021, with the recovery rate (RR) increasing to 97.28%.
India’s Active Caseload was 4,30,422 on July 16, 2021, a drop of 1,619 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for 1.39% of total cases.The Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.14% on the day while the Daily positivity rate was 1.99%, less than 3% for 25 consecutive days, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
Meanwhile, over 39.53 crore Vaccine Doses ( 39,53,43,767) have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive in the country including 38,78,078 doses administered on July 15, 2021. The country has tested 44,00,23,239 samples so far including 19,55,910 samples on July 15, 2021.
India recorded 542 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,12,531 in the country on July 16, 2021, including 126560 in Maharashtra, 36,037 in Karnataka, 33,606 in Tamilnadu, 25,022 in Delhi, 22,705 in Uttar Pradesh, 17,970 in West Bengal,16212 in Punjab, 9,625 in Bihar, 7,354 in Uttarakhand, and 5,120 in Jharkhand.
