Ara : DIG, Shababad, P Kannan, on the recommendation of Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey, has dismissed from service former Station House Officer (SHO), Sahar police station (PS), Anand Kumar Singh, for allegedly collecting money from truck and tractor drivers.

A video of the SHO, Sahar PS,Anand Kumar Singh, realizing of money from the drivers of sand loaded trucks and tractors had gone viral on social media in June 2021. Bhojpur SP took serious note of it and got the video examined by the DSP, Headquarters, Binod Kumar Singh. The probe team inquired into the viral video and audio clips and the bank account of the SHO and found the allegation correct and submitted its report to the Bhojpur SP. On the basis of inquiry report, Bhojpur SP got lodged a named FIR against HO, Sahar PS, Anand Kumar Singh. As the news of institution of FIR spread, SHO Anand Kumar Singh disappeared from the scene and the police are still searching for him.

Ashok Singh of village Madffarpur under Sahar PS, brother of President, Bihar Police Men’s Association, was also arrested for realising money from the drivers of trucks and tractors and police seized Rs 7.5 lakh cash from his house.

It may be mentioned here that Sanjay Yadav, owner and driver of a truck, had complained that some private persons were collecting money from the truck and tractor drivers under the patronage of police personnel and they also thrashed the drivers if they refused to oblige them.  After it, Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey formed a probe team the report of which went against the SHO.

A video had in which two persons were talking saying that money was given to the then SHO, Sahar PS, Anand Kumar Singh, had gone viral. The probe team also checked mobile details of the then SHO Singh.
