New Delhi : In a major reshuffle ahead of Assembly elections in some states including Uttar Pradesh nex year, PM Narendra Modi inducted 36 new ministers and elevated 7 Ministers of State ( MoS)to Cabinet Rank.The President of India administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newministers as well as those promoted to Cabinet Rank at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on July 7, 2021, evening.
Jyotiraditya M Scindia from Madhya Pradesh and former Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, are the most prominent faces among the new Ministers. Bupendra Yadav has also been appointed Cabinet Minister. The Prime Minister dropped several Ministers including Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar, and DR Harsh Vardhan.
The seven MoS promoted to Cabinet Rank include Raj Kumar Singh, Hardeep Singh Puri, Mansukh Mandavia, Anurag Singh Thakur, G Kishen Reddy, Parshottam Rupala, and Kiren Rijiju.
NDA constituents JD(U) and LJP have got representation in the Union Cabinet. JD(U) National President Ram Chandra Prasad Singh, a Rajya Sabha Member, has been appointed Cabinet Minister. LJP leader Pashupati Kumar Paras, MP from Hajipur, has also been Cabinet Minister. Paras is younger brother former Union Minister late Ram Vilas Paswan. Four first time MPs from West Bengal have also been included in the Cabinet.
