Patna : Top seed & World No 1 Ashleight Barty, 25, Australia; 2nd seed Aryna Sabalenka, 23, Belarus; 8th seed Karolina Pliskova, 29, Czech Republic : and 25th seed Angelique Kerber, 33,Germany, reached Wimbledon women’s singles semi-finals on July 6, 2021, all winning their respective quarter-final matches in straight sets at All England Club, Wimbledon, London, UK.

Top seed Barty, the 2019 French Open Champion & Australian Open semi-finalist in 2020, beat compatriot and World No 75 Alja Tomljanovic, 28, in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 on Centre Court to reach her first Wimbledon SFs.. Barty won 6 break points during the match to 2 by Tomljanovic. She also won 6 games in a row during the match to 2 by Tomljanovic. Barty, in all, won 61 points in the match to 41 by Tomljanovic.

Second seed Sabalenka beat 21st seed Ons Jabeur, 26, Tunisia, 6-4, 6-3 in QF on Centre Court. She won 3 break points during the match to 1 by Jabeur. Sabalenka won 4 games in a row to 2 by the Tunisian. Jabeur fired 4 Aces to 3 by Sabalenka. The Belarusian, in all, won 72 points during the match to 61 by Jabeur. Sabalenka committed 5 double faults during the match to 2 by Jabeur.

World No 13 Pliskova brushed aside World No 66 Viktoria Goluvic, 28, Switzerland,  6-2, 6-2 on Court 1 in QF hammerin 8 Aces and winning 4 break points during the match. Pliskova also won 7 games in a row during the match. Pliskova will face Sabalenka in SF on July 8, 2021.

World No 28 Kerber beat 19th seed Karolina Muchova, 24, Czech Republic, 6-2, 6-3 in QF on Court 1.The  2018 Wimbledon champion Kerber won 4 break points during the match to 1 by World No 22 Muchova. Kerber, gthe winner of 3 Grand Slam singles titles, also won 4 games in a row to 2 by Muchova. The German also committed 4 double faults to 1 by Muchova.
