Patna : To seed & World No 1 Novak Djokovic, 34, Serbia, and World No 48 Marton Fucsovics, 29, Hungary, reached Wimbledon quarter-finals on July 5, 2021, winning their respective 4th round matches in contrasting manner.

Djokovic, the winner of 19 Grand Slam singles titles including Australian Open and French Open titles in 2021, thumped 17th seed Cristian Garin, 25, Chile, in straight sets 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 in 4th round on Centre Court at All England Club, Wimbledon, London, UK, winning 5 break points and 5 games in a row during the match. Djokoviv, in all, won 95 points to 57 by Garin. The Serbia fired 9 Aces in the match to 2  by Garin. The Chilian committed 5 double faults to 1 by Djokovic.

Fucsovics stunned 7th seed Andrey Rublev, 23, Russia, in a five -set marathon 6-3, 4-6, 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 in 4th round on Court 2. The Hungarian won 7 break points to 3 by the Russian. Fucsovics also won 9 games in a row during the match to 3 by World No 7 Rublev. Fucsovics, in all, won 130 points during the match to 106 by Rublev. Fucsovics though also committed 10 double faults during the match to just 1 by the Russian.  The Hungarian fired 9 Aces in the match to 4 by Rublev.
